Blackness Surrounded Her
The parking lot light above Rita flickered and then went out, plunging her into complete darkness. My God, I’m in the black! The air was immediately thicker and she had to struggle to take a breath. Blackness surrounded her everywhere she looked. There were no stars visible in the sky. No streetlights. Nothing. No lights at all. The only things that gave off any illumination were the monstrous beasts that floated in the black all around her.
