Half-Formed Bodies and Twisted Growths
“Stop!”
Valri grabbed Breen and yanked him off the grid, jerking him away from the menagerie of half-formed bodies and twisted growths. Several of the shapes rolled off the grid and lay on the corridor floor, writhing and squirming like grotesque, over-sized worms. Bursts of light erupted forth from the grid in a blinding flurry of flashes. More embryonic bodies appeared, took form and grew. They filled the large grid to its capacity, spreading across its entire surface. More of the bodies rolled off the grid, spreading out into the corridor.
They backed up at a much quicker pace.
